The Agreement Confirms Joint Cooperation in Support of Uzbekistan’s Commitment to Supporting Microgravity Research and Science, Creating Opportunities for Young Researchers, and Increasing Uzbekistan’s Participation in Human Spaceflight

The Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Vast, the pioneering space habitation technology company. The agreement, signed during Minister of Technologies Sherzod Shermatov’s visit to the United States, outlines a commitment by Vast and the Ministry of Technologies to explore steps to strengthen cooperation and increase the participation of Uzbek specialists in international spaceflight programs and orbital technology projects.

Potential work together includes Uzbekistan’s participation in joint scientific research, personnel exchange programs, and the involvement of Uzbek specialists in upcoming missions to Haven-1. The partnership could also include engaging Uzbek scientists and engineers for research on artificial gravity, life support systems, and orbital architecture for Haven-2, the proposed successor to the International Space Station.

“We’re excited to collaborate with the Ministry of Digital Technologies to explore new ways for Uzbekistan to be involved in advancing commercial human spaceflight, science, research, and technology in orbit,” shared Max Haot, CEO of Vast.

Vast also holds agreements with the Czech Ministry of Transportation and the European Space Agency (ESA) to explore opportunities for European countries to access space through Vast space stations. Vast continues its rapid progress towards launching Haven-1, the world’s first commercial space station with recent milestones including the successful mission of Haven Demo, an in-orbit testbed for space station technologies.

About Vast

Founded in 2021 by Jed McCaleb, Vast is developing humanity’s next-generation space stations and pioneering the path to long-term living and thriving in space. Their roadmap begins with Haven Demo, successfully launched in November 2025, and followed by Haven-1, the world’s first commercial space station scheduled to launch in 2026. Vast is also developing Haven-2, the proposed successor to the International Space Station (ISS), designed to serve NASA’s Commercial LEO Destinations (CLD) program as a microgravity laboratory in space. Vast’s long-term ambition is to create artificial gravity habitations that enable humans to live in space, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring a spacefaring future for all.
